SLDHA Partners with St. Lucia Teachers Credit Co-operative Ltd., and Ministry of Health on World Hypertension Day for a Health Fair: Jazz Up Your Health. Tune Into Wellness.

The Saint Lucia Diabetes and Hypertension Association (SLDHA) is proud to announce its partnership with the St.Lucia Teachers Credit Cooperative Ltd. and the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs on World Hypertension Day, May 17th, 2025, at a grand public Health Fair.

The event, themed “Jazz Up Your Health. Tune Into Wellness,” will take place at the Sir Derek Walcott Square from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and is aimed at promoting health and wellness throughout our society by offering a wide range of essential health services—free of charge.

As part of the day’s activities, the SLDHA will also deliver an engaging on-stage presentation on the importance of healthy lifestyles and preventive care, especially in the fight against chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes.

Health services to be offered at the fair include:
 Blood pressure testing
 Blood sugar screening and testing
 Cholesterol checks
 Mental health education
 BMI and other body measurements
 Rapid HIV testing
 Diabetes risk assessment
 Dental examination and education
 Aerobics session

This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to empowering Saint Lucians with the knowledge and resources they need to take charge of their health. The public is encouraged to attend and take advantage of these valuable services in a relaxed, community-friendly environment.
